Soul Society by BLPH Soul Society by BLPH
"Soon after, we were split from our carnal remains without the chance to find peace someday. So, we roamed the streets, having no place to go to, just moving around, constantly being exposed to the atrocities that put us into that situation in first place.
Will we ever be able to enter a better world? Or will we remain in here, in this soul society?"

Wow, I am so happy that I finally managed to finish this piece. I started it back in April and am proud to finally be able to show it to the world :D
I had pretty much everything planned out already, so I am particularly happy that the image turned out as I wanted it to look like. A great source of inspiration was Kamelot with their song "Soul Society" that I heard approximately 3,451,739.1375 times during creating :p

So, this is somewhat a follow-up of other post-apocalyptic images I have done, namely these:

I think, I'm done with painting cityscapes for now; it just takes sooooooo long to paint each window, haha :p
Also, just for the record, 4-point-perspective is a pain to paint xD

Either way, I hope you like it! Comments and favs are greatly appreciated, as usual. Enjoy :)

Facts:
- Total creation time: 4 months, around 50-60 hours
- Original res: 4500x6000 (and that with a 1px brush..... joooooy!)
- Hardware: Wacom Intuos 3
- Software: Adobe Photoshop CS3
- PSD filesize: 621MB (I don't need to mention that I continuously rage about my slow computer, right?)
- Temp PS-file: ~9GB

"This is it!  This is a sign!"
"Yeah, it's a sign, alright; we're going outta business!"

Sorry...this just reminded me of that scene from "Ghostbusters" when that one idiot shut off the title-characters' containment grid and let all the spooks they captured loose. ^^;

Holy crap, now that is where I got the idea from! To be honest, until this point, I never thought of that. LF2 seems to be so deep in my subconscious that it's starting to take control of me :noes:

Nothing to worry about.... yet. When I come to a point where I walk around in a blue mask with LEDs placed into the eye-holes, it's time to worry :p

I didn't see this one before, I saw you working on this on in the Chat, nice. I like the 4 point perspective. You are also good at making the buildings looked all broken.
