In the course of natural events, plenty of cosmical object cross Earth's orbit each day. Just a few of them are actually large enough to reach the surface, the ground that we step on. Among these few are another very few that possess a size that can change our fate. But if they do, the fear is great. One day, the time will come when mankind will diminish.
I wondered how much I have advanced with space art, so I took an older version, namely this one, and painted it with the same concept. Looks like my skills have improved quite a bit since then  And yes, I do love apocalyptic scenes.Ironically, I used 42 layers, like in the older version, however, a few more layers went into the background this time. As you can see, I was aiming for a little more realism this time (especially about the earth-design) and tried to avoid these awfully saturated colors. Sorry for the big image, but it's essential to see all the neat details. Enjoy, comment, fav, whatever you like  Edit (13 Sep 2009): a bunch of color corrections and/or remakes of certain objects (that you're free to guess). Again, I refrained from adding a sun since big stars are so... generic  |
